It is with much delight I report that we have paid off the mortgage on the church. This was a loan taken more than 10 years ago to add the Narthex, the two restrooms, the bride’s room and small conference room at the front of the church.
There are a few of us still attending that remembers the “leap of faith” we took to make these improvements to our sanctuary. There were some lean years where making the monthly mortgage payment was a struggle, but God is faithful and we have made it to the end.
I know that a special church service is in the planning stages to recognize this milestone in our church history. More information will follow.
I also would like to report that the audits for all the church accounts have now been completed and our report forwarded to the district office. Special thanks to Vicki Young, Tammy Scuzs, Linda Holloway, John Wells, and Phyllis Wilson for their time and talents in assisting me with these audits. Special thanks to John O’Neill who complied and completed the necessary paperwork that the district requires of our financial records.
We must always strive toward complete accountability and transparencies in the handling of our funds. Special emphasis is being placed on churches from the Bishop to adhere to policies and procedures, to avoid any fraud or embezzlement. We will continue to be great stewards of our funds and use them wisely for the kingdom of God.
